candle care instructions
Beeswax candles
Beeswax is a natural, long-burning wax that glows beautifully in pillar and sculpted candles. To enjoy them safely and fully:
First Burn
- Burn your candle for about 1 hour the first time (just enough to melt a small pool across the top).
- This helps start an even burn and prevents tunneling.
Wick Care
- Trim the wick to 5 mm before each lighting.
- If the flame smokes, flickers, or grows too tall, extinguish, trim, and relight.
Burning Guidelines
- Burn for 1–2 hours at a time for smaller candles.
- Larger pillar candles may be burned up to 2 hours at a time, but avoid longer sessions to keep the wax structure stable.
-
Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant, non-flammable surface — beeswax pillars can drip as they burn. Keep away from drafts, pets, and children.
Extinguishing
- Use a snuffer, or dip the wick into the melted wax and lift it upright again.
- Avoid blowing out to prevent wax splatter.
Natural Bloom
-
Over time, beeswax may develop a soft white “bloom” on the surface. This is natural and shows purity. If you prefer a glossy look, gently buff with a soft cloth.
With proper care, your beeswax pillar will burn slowly, filling your space with golden light and a subtle honey aroma.

soy wax candles
Soy wax is natural, eco-friendly, and gives a soft, clean burn. To make the most of your jar candles:
First Burn
- Burn until the entire top layer of wax melts to the edges of the jar (about 1–2 hours, depending on size).
- This prevents tunneling and helps your candle last longer.
Wick Care
- Trim the wick to 5 mm before each lighting.
- if the flame flickers, smokes, or mushrooms, extinguish, trim, and relight.
Burning Guidelines
- Burn for at least 1 hour, but no longer than 2 - 3 hours at a time.
- Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, pets, and children.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Extinguishing
- Use a snuffer, or dip the wick into the melted wax and lift it upright again.
- Avoid blowing out the flame to prevent smoke and wax splatter.
Safety Tip
-
Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom. This prevents the jar from overheating or cracking.
